More than 50 years ago Gino Racanelli & his brother Frank founded a Delicatessen in the Bronx, 10 years later, Gino Racanelli and his brother Nick had an idea for a restaurant that reminded them of home in the hills of southern Italy. A place that specialized in simple, traditional recipes whose flavors reflected the freshest ingredients and Mamma's home cooking. That restaurant opened its doors in 1971 in Greenburgh, and it was called Pizza and Brew. It's still there and going strong, from the ORIGINAL Founders.
Today, the original Pizza and Brew in Greenburgh is opening a new chapter as it introduces an entirely fresh menu to celebrate its more than 40 years in business. We're really proud of it, and we think you'll love it. All the Italian classics are still there, of course, like chicken parmigiana, veal marsala, osso buco and the best pizza in Westchester. But the Racanelli's are now also serving up innovative new dishes, like gourmet pannini sandwiches, Neopolitan brick oven pizza and a wide variety of Italian tapas--mouthwatering, snack-sized treats like grilled baby lamp chops, crispy artichokes. And knitting it all together is a thoughtful new wine list that perfectly complements the fresh, bold flavors of the food.
We've given the entire restaurant a whole new look, emphasizing the old-time, comfortable feel of the place where generations of families have been coming together for more than 40 years. There's even a new wine bar, which is the perfect place to grab a glass of red or white and a quick snack like a plate of mozzarella or calamari.
We're just as excited about the next 40 years as we were when we first opened our doors, and we hope that you join us. Because even as Racanelli's Pizza and Brew enters its fifth decade, at heart it's still what it has always been: the place to get great food and enjoy the company of your friends and family.
